This release of Plug-in Splitter provides cosmetic improvements under Mac OS X 10.5, as well as minor usability enhancements. It continues to work under Mac OS X 10.4.

Changes in 1.2:

Support for Quick Look in Mac OS X 10.5.
Growl support, introduced in Plug-in Splitter 1.1, should now function properly with Growl 1.1. It is not expected to work with Growl 0.7.6 and earlier.
Behaviour of automatic scrolling in the unpacking log has been improved.
Window appearance has been updated under Mac OS X 10.5.
Icons have been updated for Mac OS X 10.5.

This release of Plug-in Splitter improves handling of corrupt files, including a potential (but unlikely) code insertion vulnerability. This update is reccomended for all users.

This release of Plug-in Splitter adds several user interface enhancements, as well as minor performance improvements and bug fixes.

Changes in 1.1:

Added support for Growl.
The unpacking log can now be hidden (and is by default).
Added Spotlight importer for Redline plug-ins, textures and configuration files.
Improved performance on multiprocessor systems – especially those of next decade.
Minor bug fixes.

This release of Plug-in Splitter addresses a specific problem with the extraction of small plug-ins. In particular, attempting to extract a plug-in would occasionaly result in the message “Unexpected exception in FileExtractor worker thread ID 0: *** -[NSConcreteData writeToFile:options:error:]: nil file argument”. It is believed that this error was most likely to occur on single-core systems.

Changes from 1.0.3:

Fixed an intermittent problem with extraction from small files.
Several small user interface tweaks.

This is a maintenance update of Plug-in Splitter. It includes several minor bug fixes and reliability enhancements made while working on related tools with a common source base. It also adds user interface features to maintain parity with Map Viewer.

Various bug fixes.
Added option to disable automatic updates.
Added “Extract Built-in Data” menu item.

This is a minor update of Plug-in Splitter which addresses the following issues:

The Cancel button now works.
Closing the status window also cancels extraction.
A memory management problem exposed by fixing the Cancel button was fixed.
Added automatic updates using Sparkle.
Updated to libpng 1.2.13.
